Job Description

Chalet Host
Our guests have been looking forward to their ski holiday for a long time, and it's your responsibility to make sure their memories of the chalet are wonderful.

What we're looking for:
Friendly, professional and adaptable staff who have a passion for cooking and entertaining. You'd be looking after up to 10 people on your own, or up to 16 people if working with a partner so you have to be up for a challenge! Candidates with catering experience preferred.

Your responsibility:
For six days a week you'll provide a cooked breakfast, bake cakes for afternoon tea and prepare a three course evening meal for guests. On top of this, you'll also create a welcoming atmosphere, plan your own menu, keep your kitchen hygienic, order food and ensure the chalet is always clean and tidy. You will report to the Chalet Manager.

Skills and experience:
- You should be lively, versatile and patient, with high personal standards and an eye for detail
- You need to be able to cook to a good bistro standard
- Relevant catering and cleaning experience is a definite advantage
- You must hold a valid British/EU passport and National Insurance number
NB: We don't have vacancies for non-catering hosts

Chalet Support
Sometimes our Chalet Hosts will inevitably become ill or injured, or require extra help. It's your job to step into the Host role and ensure that the guests receive the same high level of service. You need to be a keen and capable cook.

What we're looking for:
Passionate cooks who are willing, helpful and not afraid of hard work. The nature of this job means that you'll need to be flexible enough to make yourself home in any kitchen and quickly make the guests feel welcome and comfortable whilst cooking up a delicious, top quality meal.

Your responsibility:
You will be expected to assume the role of Chalet Host in the event of illness or injury, so you'll have to cook meals, clean and host at the same time as finding your way around a new kitchen. In times when you're not covering or helping in a chalet, you'll be supporting other resort staff and managers in their work, so in addition to being a confident cook, you should be prepared for physical tasks and cleaning. You will report to the Chalet Manager.

Skills and experience:

  • You should be a willing person who is able to adapt quickly and cheerfully
  • You'll need strong catering skills, possibly with previous season experience
  • You should have held a driving licence for more than two years
  • You must hold a valid British/EU passport and NI number
